FRIDAY BRUNCH CARNIVAL TRESIND REVIEW DUBAI FOOD BLOGGERSo if I were to choose my favorite spots for Friday Brunch, I had to add Tresind to the top of the list. The whole molecular gastronomy concept is magically undertaken by plenty of restaurants in Dubai these days, but Carnival by Tresind takes the charm to the next level.

Earlier this month, they kick-started a Friday Brunch, which is more like a mega feast to the tiny little Rahma. Unlike, the regular Brunch, this was not a buffet, but a live foodilicious sorcery by the best in business.

Location & Staff: Over the years, I’ve been to some fancyish fine dining spots, but never have they welcomed us with extraordinary bubbles, ‘okay!! the inner child in me might be taking over’. But Tresind knows how to explicitly spoil their customers from head to toes. Now, I’m not so easy to be impressed, but the Staff, especially our attendant, was just a heartwarming treat, he took care of us from the start till the step out their doors.

Food: Honestly, one post wouldn’t be enough to justify, how enchanting & artistic the entire menu was, and that’s why I decided to vlog my entire experience. You really need a big appetite when it comes to tresind, because they have a master plan to make you eat the entire menu in one sitting, but you can be as lazy as you want. We started off at 1pm with a selection of bread and 4 kinds of butter and left at 5 pm only because we had a movie booked for later.

Apparently, Tresind doesn’t believe in a Drinks Menu, in fact, the only ask for your favorite fruits & what mood you are going for. It may seem weird but the experienced Drinks mixologist comes up with extremely amazing & refreshing drinks.

Truth be told, the never ending list of appetizers do leave you considerably full and when the actual main course arrive, you are staring blankly at the attendant. One thing, I’ve learned is, not to over eat any item, because the next best thing is around the corner. The Delhiite in me, just couldn’t get over the cold spicy Dahi Bhalla served with nitrogen power and the unique Waffle Dosa concept baffled me to my very core.

Hand’s down the entire menu is InstaWorthy,  at times, I had to make the tough call between clicking pictures and enjoying the flavors, without any regrets, I selected the latter.

As we went ahead to the main course, you get a palate cleanser, Strawberry Murabba, and another feast on your way. From family picnic box filled served in tiffin boxes to popular demand of Punjabi’s – Sarson Ka Saag Aur Makki Ki Roti, everything is a trip down my favorite childhood memories.

Lastly, to roll down the final curtains, they dropped a giant bomb, literally. A massive bomb filled with all types of chocolate goodness & peanut butter awesomeness. Bewildered by the entire menu, we bid our goodbyes, promising to return very soon with my whole family.

Verdict: Though my love for Friday Brunches has increased tremendously, I believe they are often overpriced since people like me aren’t cut off for buffets and regretting at dinner. However, as the entire menu is served personally to you, with a relevant gap of 10-15mins, your stomach gets a nice little break to digest after every course. I won’t mind paying the amount for a 5-hour lunch, yes you read it right, reach at the doors exactly at 12 to enjoy the most of the menu.

‘You’re like the Butter to my Chicken’

Growing up subtle flavors, mixture of spices and exotic smells was an everyday deal. North Indians are born to love the Creamy Butter Chicken, Aromatic Biryani & Mouth Watering Alu Partha, our ultimate comfort food. After trying so many different cuisines at restaurants, I always end up going right back to my Mom’s Dal Chawal – Rice & Lentil Soup. Spicy Indian cuisine is what hit the right taste buttons for me, Needless to say, I jumped at the opportunity to try out authentic Indian Dishes with a modernized touch at Mint Leaf of London.

I would say that it is one of the most sophisticated & exquisite choice there is and if you’re looking for a fine dining Indian restaurant then look no further.

Location & Ambiance

On a scale of one to ten, the interiors, location & ambiance of Mint Leaf is out off the charts. Located on the fifteen floor of the stunning Emirates Financial Tower, this sophisticated fusion of India meets London will win your heart over. Despite the traditional colorful artistry which mimics India, the interiors of Mint Leaf of London reflects a more regal elegant aspect. From the clean dark look to the floor-to-ceiling windows with the gorgeous view of Burj Khalifa &  Sheikh Zayed Road, the place was truly like no other place I’ve been before.

You can decide to sit in the main dining room along the view of the open kitchen where all live action happens, a bar and a more cozy lounge area or their terrace seating.

If the view & location doesn’t give you a royal wave, the attendants surely will. Dressed in their best attires, our servers were extremely friendly & attentive. You realize the overall foundation of  Mint Leaf of London is purely for you to have a lavish elite dining experience. From the ambiance to the intricately designed food, the restaurant puts ahead a royal touch to everything.

I absolutely loved how they instantly place a small cushioned bench alongside your table for girls to place their purse. Like how come no other restaurant thought of this, seriously Kudos to Mint Leaf for understanding the pain of every girl carrying huge handbags.

Also, the attendants quickly took our order & of course they recommended their signature drinks & dishes which I may say were my favorite among all. Lastly, he was sweet enough to help me out with lighting for my food photography as well.

Food & Experience

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES It has been the most elegant & creative Indian food I’ve ever had. We started off with some Crispy Thin Roasted Papad with Sweet Mango Dip, Red Chily sauce & Pickle, quite addictive.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESThere were even a number of classic and exotic cocktails and “mocktails” available, created with fresh fruits, purees, and the most premium spirits at the bar. The star of the mocktails menu, however, is Mint Leaf’s signature drink, Sparkling Julep – Peach Puree, Lemon Juice, Apple Juice, Mint, this icy drink served in a huge copper mug refreshes your soul at the first sight.

IMG_2182SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESFor appetizers,we got the controversial Adarki Lamp Chops – perfectly flavored with ginger & coriander these lamp chops were tender, soft & so tempting, that I ended up finishing platter myself. Now comes the confusion, the lamp chops lay upon tiny discs of ‘something’ which I thought being chapli kebabs ended up being pressed mint leaf baby potatoes.

Another favorite of mine would be the Lahori Murgh Tikka which was exactly what I was looking for – pure authentic spicy mash up of Chicken Tikka.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESNext was their modernized take on the classic Indian street food Aloo Chaat, served in a stylish wine glass filled with tiny discs of crispy baby Potatoes, Sweet yogurt & tangy Tamarind Chutney seasoned with Pomegranate seeds & Bhujia.

IMG_2184IMG_2190We also tried their gorgeous Golden Lady with a twitch of Elderflower cordial, Lemon Juice, Gold Dust, Scavi and Ray Non- Alcoholic Sparkling Grape Juice

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESWe further enjoyed Pindi Cholley – Chickpea Stew with Roasted Cumin & Tamarind, Dal Makhni – Buttery Black Lentil & Murgh Tikka Lazeez – Classic Chicken Tikka Curry, Roasted Sweet Pepper Cream. To try something out of the box we also got their

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESTo try something out of the box we also got their Chilli Garlic Naan which were kinda a disappointment. Despite the red color, it didn’t taste anything near to Garlic or Chili.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESThe Murgh Tikka Lazeez is a definite must try, I would go further and call it a Spicy /Sweet alternative to  my personal fav creamy butter chicken. The perfectly roasted spiced up Pepper Creamy Sauce was on point.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESSAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESTo finish off your culinary delicacy, the very much fashioned yet still somewhat true to its roots Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake was the last delight for the evening. A perfect example of India meets London cooking style, served with Mango puree, strawberry and Gulan Jamun slices, this heavenly dessert had a layer of crushed biscuits, sweet goodness of cream cheese & bits of Gulab Jamun.
