Glam Up with Gosh MakeUp

Ever since my teenage years, I’ve always been intimated by high-end brands and stuck to drugstore makeup lines, last year when a Denmark originated brand started creating a massive buzz in the blogosphere because of it’s ll natural ingredients which mean they’re Paraben-free, fragrance-free & cruelty-free, I went ahead with making my own purchases and fell in love with it’s seaweed collection.

Earlier this month. I got contacted to have a makeover done by them, and if you watched my vlog, you know your girl, had the best time of her life.I have the ugliest eyebrows in the history of mankind, (due to religious reasons I don’t get them plucked) bushy & untameable, or that’s what I thought. Until Gosh’s makeup artist did the magic and I had the honor to use #EyebrowsonFleek on my Instagram. 😍

Gosh Makeover Dubai Beauty Review UAE Youtuber Vlogger ggGosh Makeover Dubai Beauty Review UAE Youtuber Vlogger fDuring my visit to the Lifestyle store in Mall of Emirates, I got to know more about the brand and their awesome range in foundations, premiers & mascaras. Truth be told, when a brand offer makeup premiers to suit all 3 skin types (dry, oily & combination) it deserves all the shootouts & crazy fan following. Also, the mascara line up by huge, each one did something special & different.

I was suggested products which would go well with my dry skin, and to my surprise, Argan Oil was a promising ingredient in most. I walked out the store with a few products and hopefully, I will be reviewing them soon.

Until, Next Time, Love Rahma

Wonders of a Magical Winter has begun. It’s time to bring out those cherished winter essentials to save your skin during this cold chilly weather. Though drinking hot chocolate and making a statement with dark lips are a few perks of winter, it also means a whole lot of trouble and worry about your dry itchy skin & chapped lips.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESTo be very blunt, washing my face in winter is a nightmare. So initially, I skipped exfoliating my skin. But that’s not the case this winter, Tish Tash introduced me to Konjac Sponge which turned out to be such a great discovery and investment.

This ultra-hydrating facial cleanser is infused with Hyaluronic Acid, Chamomile, Lemon Grass and Papaya plus antioxidant Vitamins A and E to gently cleanse and condition skin for a soft, smooth, dewy feel with no drying, aging after-effects.

My skin has been really dry recently leading to my extravagant search for a new hydrating cleanser, which basically got over when I got this blue beauty. The consistency is of transparent gel-like and you require only a pea size amount which means it will last forever. It is very gentle on your skin and gives a very clean rinse with minimum lather. The smell is not overpowering and has a very fresh floral scent to it. I have incorporated it in my everyday skincare routine for over a month and I do not feel any dryness or itchiness.

I really enjoy this cleanser to remove my eye makeup in evenings and the results are fab, no raccoon eyes what so ever !! I totally recommended this cleanser to girls with normal to dry skin. (120 AED)

Packed with mineral rich activated carbon, our Konjac Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal deep cleans skin pores to eliminate blackheads and dirt whilst absorbing excess oils and toxins. A natural antioxidant, it kills stubborn acne-causing bacteria and is an effective natural treatment for acne sufferers.

The whole idea behind Konjac sponge is so fascinating to me, a solid rock expanding into a soft gentle sponge double the size, as you soak it in water. This environment safe beauty product should be in your skin care routine at all times. Instead of an exfoliator,  this winter I used konjac sponge alone for gentle exfoliating  or with my Derma-E cleanser for a deep cleansing. However, taking care of this Sponge can be messy and painful. You need to let them dry completely or else they smell kinda fishy.

The Bamboo charcoal konjac sponge is said to be perfect for acne prone skin, and I can swear that over the past two months of using this gem, I can see my acne marks lighten up, giving an additional glow to my skin tone. (75 AED)

NIVEA Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar  Cleansing  Water cleanses, removes make-up from face and even eyes and moisturizes in one step. The caring formula with Dexpanthenol & Grape Seed Oil cleanses deeply thanks to its extra effective yet mild cleansing complex, moisturizes and refreshes the skin and is free of parabens, colorants, perfume, and alcohol.

Nivea’s micellar water is a cheaper yet excellent alternative to toner and makeup removers. This oil free cleanser leaves my skin refreshed, hydrated and moisturized. Click here to read the full review on my knight in shining armor. (27 AED)

This dermatologically tested, alcohol-free toner is designed for skin that needs more gentle care. It removes the last traces of make-up and impurities. Removes traces of make-up and cleanse, primes skin for moistur and Leaves skin feeling soothed.

I have this fascination with Aleo vera which drew my attention to this Toner. As it is made for sensitive skin and alcohol-free my expectations from this one was pretty high and may I tell you it certainly lived up to them. As the title mentions “calming”, this toner is soothing without any irritation or tingly feeling, unlike the tea tree oil toner from Body Shop. Brownie points to Body Shop for not adding any kind of smell to this gem. (59 AED)

By infusing 3 precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalising and repairing properties on skin – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of essential oils, we created a lightweight daily facial oil to intensely revitalise skin, instantly replenish moisture and revive radiance.

This deluxe skincare treatment has become a day necessity mainly because of its luxurious experience. I never tried a facial oil before so trying it for the 1st time was such a treat to my skin. The oil is very relaxing and light weight on the skin, the most excellent feature of this product is the smell – earthy and natural, as I said it gives you a feeling of a deluxe spa treatment. Paired together with the ‘Twin-Ball Facial Massager, the roller is quite a good way to massage the oils on your face for further enjoyment. It leaves your skin with a radiant glow by improving your blood circulation and skin elasticity.

Though it’s they are on the pricey range, facial oil @170 AED and facial massager @75AED, I love feeling luxurious at my home instead of regular trips to a spa. Unlike many oils, this one doesn’t leave your skin greasy, in fact, it absorbs within a minute of application leaving my skin smooth and hydrated. Few drops are all you need to feel good about yourself, so a 30ml bottle definitely goes a long way.

Bouncy Sleeping Mask, enriched with Edelweiss stem cells. Designed to be left on overnight, it leaves skin looking bouncier and feeling replenished. The youth-enhancing formula for a bouncier-looking skin.

Recently, I have been making regular visits to the body shop, and this overnight face mask was the latest addition to my masque collection. After applying my facial oil, I wait a good 30 minutes before using this face mask. The smell is clean and fresh, not overpowering at all, making it appropriate for a sleeping mask. The texture is so uniquely weird, it actually bounce back.

This mask works wonder though it leaves your skin a tad bit sticky which is the only negative, but as soon as it soaks in, it is the most hydrating and moisturizing skin care treatment. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks extremely hydrated with a beautiful glow to it and my overall complexion was smoother. (99 AED)

Ultra-hydrating & Multi-tasking. Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm is a 100% natural and nourishing balm that keeps lips super soft throughout the day. Packed with Natural Antioxidants & deeply penetrating skin conditioners it keeps lips supple and hydrated.

Figs & Rouge are known for their lip balms, and this lippy is not an exception, considerably it has thick and waxy like texture maybe that’s why it stays on for a longer period than any of my lip balms. It is slightly tinted with pinkish-red color with a very pleasant shine. It definitely is made for the cozy winter mornings to nourish and soften your lips

Honestly, I’m not such a big fan of the packaging, no applicator seriously? Who likes having icky fingers in the morning? (35 AED)

None the less, winters are such a great time to enjoy with your family and friends.

A time of sharing and loving and giving and receiving – Joey aka F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Highly unlikely of them, Therapy Box missed the boat for December and I welcomed my Blue Box of Delight yesterday afternoon. If you are unfamiliar with Box Therapy, it is a deluxe subscription box in UAE endeavoring to provide therapeutic solutions to your oh-so stressed mind & soul. Click here to know more about this subscription box and my previous review.

Admittedly, I am a bit unconvinced if this month’s box was worth the hype or my excitement, for a year-end box I assumed an extra festive and personalized touch – ’emphasize on the PERSONALIZED’. The box in itself was not extremely joyful or shouting out ‘Happy New Year’ as I wanted. Off the top of my head, a colorful wrapping paper instead of the boring gray, a personalized greeting card or a more customized Daily planner would have been icing on the cake.

Never the less, December’s therapy box included the following products:

Organization Kit

  • 2016 Annual Calender: I just love how each month portrays a different season and you can choose to add your favorite pictures to personalize it your liking and change them whenever your prefer.
  • 2016 Reve du Soleil’s Journey Daily Planner: A planner is the most crucial aspect of a blogger, as I mentioned a bit more customized planner would have made my day. Anyhow this one goes directly into my purse, and surely would be my life saver throughout this year.

Gardening Kit

  • Petunia Seeds and Gardening Pot: Now this is something I am going to have fun doing with my colleagues. Plus petunia seeds smells like HEAVEN !!!

Fashion & Beauty Kit

  • Spongette: I’m a huge fan of konjac sponges, so trying out a new brand of sponges is going to be really interesting for my skin. However, I doubt if this could come even a tad bit closer to my fondness for konjac sponge.
  • Lovisa Earings: Though Lovisa has some seriously beautiful collection, this pair of red earrings was not upto my standards, it seemed very cheap and fragile.

‘Nivea Sensitive 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water’

In every beauty blogger’s life, on some pleasant yet extremely rare occasions we come across a product which deserves our utmost appreciation and to honour these splendid beauties, I have created a whole new category of Product of the Month. Each month you will be able to add one new product to your wish list as cutting through to reach the top spot will not be any easy.

A lot of you have been requesting beauty related posts, so here is one topic which is my personal favourite. Nights have been my best friend from school days & If you are anything like me, the ever so beautiful sunrise doesn’t look so pretty after all to you.
