UNICORN ISLAND CANDY

rahma talwar german candy

We (Bloggers!) are super guilty of trying to pose all natural with those crispy white bed sheets. While trying to attempt the cliche (casually spreads candy wrappers), I soon realized how unrealistic it is to capture a #PicturePerfect moment on a bed. You seriously need a team of professionals from adjusting your dress to the natural lighting, everything is super planned (and fake!). Truth is between those perfectly white background minimalistic photos and not-so candid OOTDs, we are hiding a camera roll full of failed attempts and a folder of best editing apps on our phones.
Bloggers are no extraordinary royals! We love documenting the best scenes on a screen, pack four outfit changes for a day and eat cold food for a delicious looking flatlay. Seriously! As a blogger, you learn the art of unrealistic story telling! (All my life never once did I own a complete white bed sheet set, my mum knows I’m a clumsy mid night eating snacks kinda girl).
And talking about food…
Let’s focus more on the Unicorn Candy!
Today’s sponsor for this post is the team behind German Candy – a fantasy box for every sweet tooth. A couple ( Natascha and Mark) within German borders now shares their homeland’s authentic finest confections internationally (btw, bonus: free shipping!). I adore the whole concept of subscription boxes, how amazing is to get a surprise delivered to your door step each month. Their box is completely packed with both savory and sweet treats, from an original German favorite: puffed chips to Unicorn island inspired sour gummy worms ( a personal favorite), chewy caramel toffee to salty bbq crunch peanuts. Basically, a massive stock of Munchies!
Here is a detailed list of everything that came with the May Geman Candy Subscription box with full description. It costs around 23 Euro (approximately 99Dhs) per box (international shipping included) which is quite similar to all food subscription boxes in UAE market currently.
Thank you for a taste of Germany in Dubai!
Cheers Dubai!

TERRA BELLA BOX 2016

TERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXTERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXTERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXWith so many beauty products going onto my skin constantly for reviews, it was high time to invest in some Natural skincare gems. That’s when I discovered TERRA BELLA BOX, a subscription service that sends you 3-4 natural beauty & bath products each month to your doorstep for $32.95, which includes free shipping in the U.S.

Every box helps to support local small businesses which use cruelty-free ingredients and develop ethical products. In this Green Box of Glow, you’ll receive cleansers, moisturisers, masks, exfoliators, hand and nail products, hair products, bath products and such.

TERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXOnce you upon the box you get an info card with each product description & retail price.

Klen Shower Steamer in Happy ($3.99) With constant travelling because of my two jobs, I hardly get any time for a bath or to use my beloved Lush bath bombs. For a little pampering session, a shower streamer is the best choice. Just pop this little guy on the tub floor, with a few drop of water and let the magic begin. Your whole washroom will be filled with Jasmine fragrances with few seconds.

TERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOX meraki-botanicals-rose-lemongrass-toning-mist-reviewMeraki Botanicals Rose Lemongrass Toning Mist ($20) – Ever since I got this beauty, I have never left home without it. Everything about this toner from the fragrance to the ingredient combination refreshes your mind & soul in this hot summery weather of Dubai. It is great for spritzing in the middle of the day for a cool, calm effect.

TERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXWoolin & Co. Handcrafted Soap in Ylang Ylang & Geranium ($7) – Who doesn’t love some floral scented natural soap on their vanity right? I have included this gem in my Eid Giveaway, enter here to win the gift hamper.

TERRA BELLA BOX MAY 2016 WORLDWIDE BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXPurelygreat Lavender Cream Deodorant ($15) – Using a spatula or my fingers to apply deodorant does creep me out majorly but does the job right!! The Jasmine fragrance does last forever, a great natural alternative.

Orglamix Blacquer Shadow & Liner ($18) – Though it is a 3-in-1 cream, I only use this multi-pearl formula on the outer corner of my eyes for a natural smokey look. Coconut oil makes it too creamy for my oily eyelids and as an eyeliner, it’s staying power is very limited.

Orglamix Eco Chic Bent Eyeliner Makeup Brush ($7.50) – I always wanted to test out a curved eyeliner brush, it does take some practice to get that perfect wing but it’s not impossible.

The overall value of the box is approximately 70$, it’s a great gift for someone who is just getting into a vegan lifestyle or opting to use only natural skin care.

THE GINGERBREAD BOX

New Subscription Box in UAE for desserts | Gingerbread box reviewAttention Foodies! Today, I bring you a completely new deliciously mystical subscription box catering to your sweet tooth. You know my love for monthly boxes so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that a premium dessert box was on the leash. Say hello to The GingerBread Box for the ultimate ‘sugar rush’ experience in UAE.

Though I couldn’t make it to the Taste of Dubai event, dear Safiyah from The Gingerbread Box sent over a hint TOD goodness to my office. The Gingerbread Box is a mystery box subscription with 3-5 gourmet & artisan sweet treats designed to satisfy the most ridiculous of cravings & take you on a journey to sugar heaven.

Subscription packages are monthly, three or six months with prices ranging from AED 89-99 per month (shipping included). Price worth paying for the ultimate ‘cheat day’ experience with premium brands, gourmet bakeries, and chocolate connoisseurs.

So how are the desserts? Here’s a quick rundown of everything that was included in this Taste of Dubai inspired subscription box.

COOKIES & CREAM GOURMET POPCORN BY POPCORNPOLIS: This popcorn is ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY AMAZING. Yes, I am typing in all caps. As soon as you open the bag, you smell OREOS. The popcorn is FRESH and crunchy. The crushed oreo cookies that’re layered on just taste SUPERB! I can’t stop raving about it. You can taste each and every layer. It’s a delight to munch on. I’ll definitely order more and so glad I was introduced to this company.

CHOCOLATE CAKEPOP BY CUP N CAKES DUBAI: It’s cakepopolicious – Not only was this chocolate cakepop appealing but also finger licking delicious. The melted milk chocolate colored in red was enough to fly me off to the wonders of Candyland.

LEGENDARY BROWNIE BY OUSHE GOURMET BAKESHOP: These chocolatey rich & moist brownies taste so good & melt in your mouth right away. It smelled absolutely intoxicating and felt like a party in my tummy.  I’d say it’s more like fudge – but for that reason, it makes one of the most delicious brownies I’ve ever had

ASSORTED COOKIES BY BOULEVARD GOURMET: The fresh cookies were the biggest hit in my office, a royal treat indeed from Radisson Blu Hotel in Deira Creek. GingerBread Box delivers as it claims of serving Premium desserts.

SMORES JAR BY LOOSHIS: Unlike the traditional messy Smores that I love, these came in a jar (the mini mason jar caught my attention from the very first moment), maybe the idea behind was to introduce us me to a more civilized way of eating them. Though it was filled with Nutella, peanut butter, marshmallow goodness, it has to be my least favorite treat among the lot mainly because of the packaging.

Should I Buy This Box?

Verdict: This was a pretty solid box from TGBB! All of the treats were delicious, but I particularly enjoyed the Cookies & Cream Popcorn and Chocolate Cakepop. In terms of cost, this subscription doesn’t offer extremely superb value for 99AED, But I think it’s a lot of fun to explore new brands launching in UAE via GingerbreadBox. Honestly, receiving a giant box of sweet every month always puts a smile on my face!

BOX THERAPY | JANUARY 2016

Box Therapy January 2016 Review

a

Another month, Another Blue Box of Delight – Yes that’s what I call my Box Therapy Subscription. A blue gem which never fails to blow you away although this time, it had an extra oomph factor to it, maybe coz it’s my BIRTHDAY.

So last month, I kept babbling about how the boxes weren’t personalized enough, nevertheless, Box Therapy started off 2016 with a BANG, if you like me I’m sure you had an “Oh My God” Jump in the Air moment and NO, I’m no exaggerating. Being a sucker for customized gifts, their ‘Live for today’ butterfly bracelet was custom-made with my initials RT and went perfectly with my logo. Anything beyond this was just an icing on the cake for me. Click here, to read my reviews on their past boxes.

BOX THERAPY – DECEMBER

_FAL0702

Highly unlikely of them, Therapy Box missed the boat for December and I welcomed my Blue Box of Delight yesterday afternoon. If you are unfamiliar with Box Therapy, it is a deluxe subscription box in UAE endeavoring to provide therapeutic solutions to your oh-so stressed mind & soul. Click here to know more about this subscription box and my previous review.

Admittedly, I am a bit unconvinced if this month’s box was worth the hype or my excitement, for a year-end box I assumed an extra festive and personalized touch – ’emphasize on the PERSONALIZED’. The box in itself was not extremely joyful or shouting out ‘Happy New Year’ as I wanted. Off the top of my head, a colorful wrapping paper instead of the boring gray, a personalized greeting card or a more customized Daily planner would have been icing on the cake.

_FAL0723

Never the less, December’s therapy box included the following products:

Organization Kit

  • 2016 Annual Calender: I just love how each month portrays a different season and you can choose to add your favorite pictures to personalize it your liking and change them whenever your prefer.
  • 2016 Reve du Soleil’s Journey Daily Planner: A planner is the most crucial aspect of a blogger, as I mentioned a bit more customized planner would have made my day. Anyhow this one goes directly into my purse, and surely would be my life saver throughout this year.

Gardening Kit

  • Petunia Seeds and Gardening Pot: Now this is something I am going to have fun doing with my colleagues. Plus petunia seeds smells like HEAVEN !!!

Fashion & Beauty Kit

  • Spongette: I’m a huge fan of konjac sponges, so trying out a new brand of sponges is going to be really interesting for my skin. However, I doubt if this could come even a tad bit closer to my fondness for konjac sponge.
  • Lovisa Earings: Though Lovisa has some seriously beautiful collection, this pair of red earrings was not upto my standards, it seemed very cheap and fragile.

GLAMBOX | DECEMBER 2015

Glam Box DecemberGlam Box DecemberA beautiful year is about to end on a very happy note, all thanks to this month’s GlamBox, Unlike. last previous boxes, this month’s Glam box was on point and delivered extremely well to my expectations. Though, the surprise was busted when Glambox announced the items way ahead of its time, the discount vouchers were the show stealer for me.

For starters, I received my box on time at the correct address, so kudos to Glambox and finally I got my Body Shop item pending from last month – Oils of life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil !!

Without further ado, check out the contents for Decembers which were profoundly my favorites.

Glam Box December

Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strip: These babies were absolute magic, I can’t stress how well they do their job. Will I buy them? Hell yea, these gems are No.1 on my shopping list.

FreshLook One-Day Contact Lens Gray: To be honest, getting something in my eye is a nightmare for me, so I’m a tad bit skeptical about if I should even try these.

Misa Nail Lacquer- 237 its you: Again I’m not a fan of nail polish, so I would surely pass this one to a friend.

Shea Butter DXB: Firstly, this 100% pure organic butter directly shipped from Africa is deeply nourishing and moisturizing. Oh but the smelling the butter is an awful and extremely obnoxious experience ever. So this one goes directly into my foot massage kitty.

Abeeco Bee Venom Mask: As many of you know, face masks are kinda my weakness, so Glambox surely got some brownie points for including this Mask/Night cream.

Loccaitane Extra Gentle Soap with Shea Butter: No one I know has ever complaints about this particular brand so adding a pure vegetable soap was such a Winner for an organic beauty product enthusiast like me.  In fact, it smells like lemongrass, one of my fav scents ever.

Parachute Gold Thick & Strong Coconut Hair Oil: Hands down, I had a quick visit back to their childhood, when all I did was cry getting that painful hair oil massage with Parachute. Though I hate the smell, but this oil is the best treatment for your damaged hair.

Body Shop  Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil: You may call me an impulsive buyer but I had that heart touching moment when you come across a product and you instant know that’s what I was looking for all these years – QUITE DRAMATIC!!! Honestly, that was my reaction the 1st time I applied this oil onto my face and today I’m a proud owner of BodyShops Oils of Life 30ml bottle priced @ 175 AED.
