The hottest buzz around RT Hijab Styles ever since I started the blog is my Pinteresty DIY Makeup Brush Cleansing Tutorial, so continuing the thought behind my most popular post here is a quick little sneak peek into my Makeup Brushes Collection requested by one of the readers.
Though shopping may be my most cherished pastime, I’m all about being economical. Fortunately, considering the current beauty launches of drugstore brands and the reasonable deals found online, upgrading your make-up brush selection couldn’t be easier. If you’re in the market for a new set, I truly believe amazing affordable dupes are already shining through the online window.
First up I have a gorgeous red set of eye makeup brushes from lifestyle, I picked out during my early blogging days and ever since these are the only ones I grab when experimenting with different eye looks. The set includes Comb/Lash, Angle Eye Shadow, Crease/Smudge, Shader, Smoky Eye, and Brow brushes accompanied with a travel case.
As for the quality of the brushes they are all soft & feel amazing brushed over the eyelids and as for shedding, I haven’t seen a single fibre leave them as of yet! My favourite is the dual blending brush great for glitter eyeshadows too. Then there’s the angled brush which I was hoping could be paired with a gel eyeliner, but it was little too stiff, however, it was great for filling in eyebrows.
Onto a slightly more expensive splurge, the Real Technique Sculpting set is a great one-time investment for the perfect contour and highlight which I got from Wadi. If you are a beginner on a lower budget, it is a nice complete kit comprising of a setting brush, sculpting brush and fan brush each one to do all your shading & baking.
The dense angled Sculpting brush is great for blending and distributing cream or powder contour shades within seconds. The small fluffy Setting brush is perfect to set your under eye concealer with powder and apply highlighter precisely. This is my go to brush for an instant baking effect, using the brush I apply a layer of loose setting powder under my eyes and dust off excess after few minutes. Finally, star of the show is the cute Fan Brush excellent to apply a light layer of highlighter, or contour your nose very precisely, or swipe away eyeshadow fall out from underneath your eyes.
Recently I acquired an affordable dupe of the oval makeup brush set by Anastasia BH. Firstly, I’m not a makeup brush snob, so investing in good quality dupes is much more exciting & satisfying to me.
Though dupes, these brushes are the bomb at blending out cream or liquid formulas especially when you are on the go. These do not leave brush strokes, and blends and smooths much faster than a sponge, without soaking up as much product. The handle of these brushes are not so great in fact, a bit cheap, but if used carefully these brushes can do wonders to get a flawless makeup look.
Another drawback I have experienced while testing them out is the clean up can get really messy and take ages for a deep cleansing of the brushes. I’m still finding a better solution for their cleanups.
